Anima Ligata
Original painting by Michele Petrelli ©420x297mm

In my latest work, Anima Ligata, a woman’s face gently rises from a man’s, both bound together as they emerge from the black background. This shared unveiling speaks to the complexity of identity — a fusion of hidden depths and unfinished stories. The darkness acts as both veil and cradle, holding these intertwined souls in a fragile balance between revelation and concealment. Which parts of ourselves remain bound beneath the surface, half-seen yet powerful? As their faces intertwine, they invite us to embrace not only what we know but also the mysteries that shape us.
In my full video on Patreon, you can follow the entire creative process — from the first brushstroke sketch to the visible layers where the faces begin to emerge. See how light and shadow play on their features, and how the unfinished parts give space to mystery and meaning.
If you are intrigued by the hidden and the bound within us, I invite you to watch the full video on Patreon and discover what happens when art tries to give form to the soul’s deepest ties.
