Lao and Giocasta 762

Lao and Giocasta 762

Original painting by Michele Petrelli ©
From the union of King Leo and his queen Jocasta was born Oedipus, whose tragic story has an undeniable moral: "Often a man comes across his fate on the path made to avoid it."

The painting appears purposely unfinished and worn by the signs of time. As with all my paintings, by enlarging the image you can verify that the painting was done entirely with digital oil paint without any help from artificial intelligence tools.
