Vampire 1058
Original painting by Michele Petrelli ©Emerging from the shadows
Generally speaking, most of my portraits emerge from the darkness. This means that there is a preparation of a dark background where slowly shapes are outlined through layers of light. Darker subjects, such as this vampire, thus become more striking. In my previous post I talked about the flaws in a face. How it is much more interesting to me to depict a face that is not perfect. Tom Cruise's face, is not a good example of imperfection at all. But a decaying vampire with skin that is no longer alive is.
