Painting a female nude is a very academic exercise. It has a number of complex shapes to draw. It is possible to succeed if these forms are embodied in simpler forms. It encloses everything inside known geometries such as the ball, the cylinder the cone. For example, the chest is an overturned pyramid trunk. In the second step we have to study the shadows that these geometries project by remembering that the projected shadows are always somewhat darker than their own shadows.
